If you give it a little air by swirling, this white wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in the clear church windows on the edge of the glass. When poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of cherry blossom, lime, papaya and vineyard peach, rounded off by forest soil and sun-warmed rocks, which are contributed by the barrel ageing process.
This dry white wine from Cantina Terlan is for wine lovers who prefer to drink it bone dry. The Vorberg Pinot Bianco Riserva comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 1.2 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful white wine is wonderfully silky, melting, creamy and dense. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Vorberg Pinot Bianco Riserva is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region, more precisely from Alto Adige / South Tyrol DOC, ultimately impresses with a remarkable aftertaste.
Vinification of the Vorberg Pinot Bianco Riserva from Cantina Terlan
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Pinot Blanc. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Cantina Terlan. The Vorberg Pinot Bianco Riserva is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The ripening of the grapes for this Pinot Blanc wine is influenced to a very large extent by the climate of the growing region. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected in particularly long and even grapes and a rather moderate must weight. The grapes for this white wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Vorberg Pinot Bianco Riserva is matured for a further 12 months in oak barrels.
