The beginning in Sicily?
Mark the Winegrower from California took a nice vacation in Sicily in 1997. There he met his present wife Elvezia from Friaul.
He suggested Elvezia a short trip to Apulia - Mark had heard that the grape variety Primitivo was very similar to Zinfandel and his Californian heart naturally beats faster with this grape variety.
A short holiday became home - the two have not left Apulia.
What about today?
Not much has changed since A Mano was founded. Their philosophy is to produce high quality wines at reasonable prices. Modern style meets deep respect for the Puglia region. Only local grape varieties are vinified at A Mano.
How does the name come about?
Mark and Elvezia are artisans through and through. Whether in the vineyard or in the cellar - every wine bottle is produced with great care. By hand (= Italian A Mano) and with a lot of love.
