More information
The Abadal Franc of Abadal from Catalonia reveals a dense ruby red color in the wine glass. This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was brought to the bottle with only 2 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the upper price range, this Spaniard naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require residual sugar. This dense and velvety red wine presents itself on the palate with pressure and complexity. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Abadal Franc reveals itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Catalonia, more precisely from Pla de Bages DO, finally thrills with considerable reverberation.
Vinification of the Abadal Franc from Abadal
The basis for the powerful Abadal Franc from Catalonia are grapes from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo. When the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Abadal Franc are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
