Ahr river Wines - a red spot of viticulture

Ahr yes - red wine from Germany. From the red wine paradise Ahr itself, of course. From steep rocky slopes, warming rock and the northernmost wine-growing area in Rhineland-Palatinate. The Ahr meanders through the valley, flanked by wooded northern slopes and the southern slopes, which are covered with patches of wine. This is where the demanding Pinot Noir thrives in all its glory, where Germany's best red wine is produced, and where Ahr wine is at home. 

Ahr wines - a speciality from Germany

The Ahr is a small wine-growing region with a big name. The approximately 550 hectares of vineyards are almost negligible in comparison to the Palatinate or Rheinhessen, but here it is not the size that matters, but how the vines are handled. In any case, the winegrowers take a lot of effort, especially when climbing the steep and barren rock formations. Thank goodness; otherwise we would miss the finest red wines from Germany.
