The barrel-aged Ahrweiler Silberberg Spätburgunder GG from the Ahr winegrowing region reveals itself in the glass in a bright light red. If you give it some air by swirling, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, because it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. The first nose of the Ahrweiler Silberberg Spätburgunder GG presents nuances of morello cherries, oranges and kumquats. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as cigar box, cinnamon and vanilla.
The Meyer-Näkel Ahrweiler Silberberg Spätburgunder GG impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the icon wine segment, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine presents itself wonderfully dense. The finale of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Ahr, more precisely from Ahrweiler, finally convinces with considerable reverberation.
Vinification of the Ahrweiler Silberberg Spätburgunder GG from Meyer-Näkel
The balanced Ahrweiler Silberberg Spätburgunder GG from Germany is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Pinot Noir grape variety. Obviously, the Ahrweiler Silberberg Spätburgunder GG is also determined by climate and viticultural style Ahrweiler. This German wine can literally be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive manner. The fact that the Spätburgunder grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has an influence on the ripeness of the vintage that cannot be dismissed. This is expressed, among other things, in particularly long and evenly grown grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.
