The Alfonso Boeri Winery was founded in 1890 when the current owner’s great-grandfather began cultivating grapes on the slope of the Brico Qualglia hill. In the following 100 years, Boeri sold his grapes to other vintners, and no original wine was bottled.
In 1998 Giorgio and Roberto Boeri took over the management of the winery and decided to bottle and market their own wines with the family name Boeri as the label.
Alfonso Boeri – Vintner from Costigliole d'Asti
Their first wine was Pörlapà, a Barbera d'Asti Superiore made from grapes grown on the vines planted by their grandfather in 1936. Encouraged by the success of their first wine, Giorgio and Roberto began to plant new vineyards, however not with the traditional Barbera, but with the Nebbiolo variety, which is the basis for Barolo wines.
In 2001 they started their experimental cuveé Parbólo, which is made from 70 % Barbera and 30 % Nebbiolo grapes. again, this wines was welcomed enthusiastically by wine connoisseurs.
