Altopiano Primitivo Puglia IGT 2019 - Terre di Montelusa
The elegant Altopiano Primitivo Puglia from Terre di Montelusa flows into the glass with a bright crimson colour. This varietal Italian wine presents in the glass wonderfully expressive notes of blackcurrants, blueberries, plums and morello cherries. This is accompanied by hints of cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa bean.
This dry red wine from Terre di Montelusa is just the right thing for purists, who would best have 0.0 grams of sugar in the wine. The Altopiano Primitivo Puglia comes very close to this, having been produced with just 6 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety and dense. The Altopiano Primitivo Puglia's moderate fruit acidity flatters the palate with a pleasing sensation without lacking freshness. In the finish this red wine from the Apulia wine growing region finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of blueberry and blackberry.
Vinification of the Terre di Montelusa Altopiano Primitivo Puglia
This balanced red wine from Italy is made from the Primitivo grape variety. At optimal maturity, the grapes for the Altopiano Primitivo Puglia are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machinery. After the manual harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Altopiano Primitivo Puglia is aged in oak barrels for another 9 months.
