Altos R Crianza Rioja DOC - Altos de Rioja

The Altos R Crianza of Altos de Rioja presents itself in a strong ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet is determined by wild berries, cherries and some prune. Spicy barrel notes, some roasted aroma and balsamic nuances complement.

On the palate, this Crianza from Spain's top Rioja DOCa region, aged for a total of 18 months, is full-bodied and accompanied by incisive but harmonious tannins. Very round and coherent also in the long finish.

Vinification of the Altos R Crianza from Altos de Rioja

The grapes for the Altos R Crianza come from  20 to 40 year old vines. After destemming, the grapes are crushed and cold macerated for about four days. The alcoholic fermentation takes place within 10 days at 28°C. After fermentation in tank, further aging takes place in used barriques made of 80% French and 20% American oak for a total of 12 months. Subsequently, this crianza matures in bottle for another 6 months before being released to the market.
