More information about Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG - Cesari

The powerful Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Cesari shines in the glass with a dense ruby red color. Held at a slight angle, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. Swirling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high level of viscosity, which can be seen in the strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico reveals nuances of pears, wild berry jam and plum must. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by even more fruity, balsamic nuances.

This Italian wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with just 6 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine of this renown, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly smooth and velvety texture. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this wine from the Veneto wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of wild berry jam and apple. Mineral notes from the clay-dominated soil are added to the finish.

Vinification of the Cesari Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Corvina, Negrara and Rondinella grape varieties. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils in Veneto. The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation. The ageing in the barrel is followed by considerable bottle ageing, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Dining recommendations for the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from Cesari

Ideally enjoy this red wine from Italy at 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, duck breast with sugar snap peas or veal steak with beans and tomatoes.
