More information
Held at a slight angle, a transition of the wine's color towards garnet red is visible at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. Swirling the glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in the clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The bouquet of this red wine from Veneto is impressive with hints of morello cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant and plum. If we trace the aromas further, the oak wood influence adds oriental spices, dark chocolate and gingerbread spice.
The Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is wonderfully dry for the wine drinker. This red wine is never coarse or austere, as is appropriate for a wine of this renown. The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its concise fruit acidity. The finish of this red wine from the Veneto wine-growing region, which has good ageing potential, ultimately delights with a beautiful finish.
Vinification of the Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
The powerful Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from Italy is a cuvée made from the Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Oseleta and Rondinella grape varieties. The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After the harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is matured for a few months in French oak barrels.
