In the glass, Emil Bauer's Amator Cuveé reveals a dense purple color. If you give it some air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. This German cuvée shows wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries, violets, lilies and blueberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of gingerbread spice, black tea and vanilla.
The Emil Bauer Amator Cuveé presents itself to the wine connoisseur wonderfully dry. This red wine is never coarse or meager, but round and smooth. This dense red wine is full-bodied and multifaceted on the palate. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Palatinate, which can be stored well, finally inspires with extraordinary length. Once again, hints of blackberry and rose appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by loam and loess join in.
Vinification of the Emil Bauer Amator Cuveé
The basis for Emil Bauer's premium and wonderfully powerful Amator Cuveé is Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate region. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, limestone and loess. The fact that the Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a very high influence on the ripening of the grapes. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and evenly ripened grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Amator Cuveé are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in large wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months in French oak barrels.
Food recommendation for Emil Bauer Amator Cuveé
This red wine from Germany is best enjoyed at a temperate temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to baked feta cheese parcels, lemon chili chicken with bulgur or arugula penne.
