More information
The Ammasso Rosso Sicilia from Barone Montalto is a bright purple red. This red wine has an opulent yet gently balanced bouquet that contains fully ripe berries such as blackcurrants, blueberries, raspberries and nuances of cherry jam. Candied notes and roasted hints are also present.
On the palate, the Ammasso from Barone Montalto is wonderfully tasty and sensual. Delicate enamel and round tannins make this cuvée from Sicily a special experience. An elegant and remarkably powerful wine.
Vinification of the Ammasso from Barone Montalto
The grapes for the Ammasso come from various vineyards in Sicily and are concentrated using the passito method, i.e. by drying the grapes. After eight to ten months of ageing in French barriques, this cuvée of Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon matures in the bottle for a further four months before the wine is finally released for sale.
Food paring for the Barone Montalto Ammasso Rosso Sicilia
