More information about Ampio delle Mortelle Toscana IGT - Fattoria Le Mortelle

The barrel-aged Ampio delle Mortelle Toscana from the wine-growing region of Tuscany is a dense purple-red in the glass. If you give it a little air in the wine glass by swirling it, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The nose of this Fattoria Le Mortelle red wine reveals all kinds of blackberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in small wooden barrels adds further aromas such as mint/melissa, black pepper and chocolate.

The Fattoria Le Mortelle Ampio delle Mortelle Toscana impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine from the Icon wine segment, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety. The finish of this red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region impresses with a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of the Fattoria Le Mortelle Ampio delle Mortelle Toscana

The basis for the powerful Ampio delle Mortelle Toscana from Italy are grapes from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère grape varieties. Ampio delle Mortelle Toscana is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the powerful Ampio delle Mortelle Toscana is aged for 30 months in French oak barriques. The ageing in wooden barrels is followed by a long bottle ageing period, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Recommendation for Ampio delle Mortelle Toscana from Fattoria Le Mortelle

Ideally enjoy this red wine from Italy at 15 - 18°C to accompany spaghetti with caper and tomato sauce, chickpea curry or braised chicken in red wine.
