Apianae Moscato del Molise DOC 2013 - Di Majo Norante

The Apianae Moscato Molise by Di Majo Norante surprises and delights wine lovers of Moscato grapes. In the glass, the Apianae shines softly golden yellow with light amber reflections. The nose reveals an intense and fresh bouquet with notes of orange blossom and citrus blossom honey, with candied fruit in the background. Deliciously sweet in taste, yet dry on the palate, the nicely integrated, elegant acidity has a harmonising, creamy and round effect. Long, persistent finish with the typical Moscato note in the long lasting aftertaste.

Production of the Apianae Moscato Molise by Di Majo Norante

The ancient Moscato vine is traditionally known in the pre-Christian period and has been popular for centuries. It was cultivated under the name of Apicia or Apianae. The 100% Moscato grapes, which thrive on sandy and clayey soils of the Di Majo Norante vineyards, are dried on the plant and then crio-macerated, then gently pressed lightly to maintain the aromas, and fermented slowly at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation is carried out completely in barrels, followed by 12 months of ageing in stainless steel vats and a further 6 months of bottle storage.

Food pairing for the Apianae Moscato Molise by Di Majo Norante

A wonderful meditation wine. For long evenings in philosophical circles. As a dessert wine with cakes and pastries, but also a wonderful accompaniment to matured cheese and smoked cheese or paté-de-foie.
