More information
The Enzo Boglietti Arione Barolo is a first-class red wine in a glass. It offers a wonderfully dense, ruby red color. Held at a slight angle, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the rims. When swirling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in the clear stained glass windows on the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Enzo Boglietti presents aromas of blueberries, blackcurrants, blackberries and mulberries, complemented by black tea, cinnamon and vanilla. The Arione Barolo from Enzo Boglietti is the right choice for all wine lovers who like as little residual sugar as possible in their wine. However, it is never sparse or brittle, as you would naturally expect from a wine from the Icon wine segment. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly fleshy and dense texture. On the finish, this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of blueberry and blackcurrant. Mineral notes from the sandstone and marl-dominated soils are added to the finish.
Vinification of the Arione Barolo by Enzo Boglietti
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Nebbiolo. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally powerful single-varietal wine from Enzo Boglietti. In Piedmont, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, limestone, sandstone and marl. The Arione Barolo is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Arione Barolo is aged for 30 months in French oak barriques. The ageing in wooden barrels is followed by a long period of bottle ageing, which makes this red wine even more complex.
Dining recommendations for the Arione Barolo by Enzo Boglietti
This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at 15 - 18°C with boeuf bourguignon, ossobuco or goose breast with gingery red cabbage and marjoram.
