With the Rafael Palacios As Sortes comes a first-class white wine in the swirled glass. Here it reveals a wonderfully dense, pale yellow color. The bouquet of this white wine from Galicia enchants with nuances of grapefruit, lemon, pineapple and kumquat. If we trace the aromatics further, sun-warmed rocks and forest floor come into play.
This dry white wine from Rafael Palacios is for wine lovers who would ideally have 0.0 grams of sugar in their wine. The As Sortes already comes very close to this, it was vinified with just 1.8 grams of residual sugar. This crisp and dense white wine presents itself on the palate full of pressure and facets. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the As Sortes is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this very storable white wine from the wine-growing region of Galicia finally inspires with good length. There are again hints of kumquat and star fruit.
Vinification of the As Sortes by Rafael Palacios
The basis for the powerful As Sortes from Galicia are grapes from the grape variety Godello. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the As Sortes is aged for several months in oak barriques.
