More information about Assmannshäuser Spätburgunder - Kloster Eberbach

The Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir from Kloster Eberbach in the Rheingau reveals a bright, light red color in the wine glass. This single-varietal German wine flatters the glass with wonderfully complex notes of blackberry, plum, sour cherry and blueberry. There are also hints of smoke.

The Kloster Eberbach Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir impresses with its straightforward, dry taste. It was bottled with just 0.5 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Taste does not necessarily require sugar. The texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully dense on the palate. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, the Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir flatters the palate with a pleasing sensation without lacking freshness. On the finish, this wine from the Rheingau wine-growing region delights with its exceptional length. There are again hints of blackberry and sour cherry. Mineral notes from the slate-dominated soils are added in the finish.

Vinification of Kloster Eberbach Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir

The balanced Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir from Germany is a single-varietal wine made from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on slate soils in the Rheingau. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Recommendation for the Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir from Kloster Eberbach

This red wine from Germany is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C with goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, veal steak with beans and tomatoes or lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs.
