In the glass, the Aufwind Weissburgunder and Chardonnay from Thomas Hensel presents a brilliantly shimmering light yellow color. This German cuvée shows wonderfully expressive notes of pear, physalis, pineapple and guava in the glass. These are joined by hints of other fruits.
This white wine from Thomas Hensel is just right for all wine lovers who like it dry. However, it is never dry or brittle, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Aufwind Weissburgunder and Chardonnay is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this ripening white wine from the wine-growing region of Palatinate finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by loess and clay.
Vinification of the Thomas Hensel Aufwind Weissburgunder and Chardonnay
The starting point for Thomas Hensel's premium and wonderfully elegant Cuvée Aufwind Weissburgunder and Chardonnay are Chardonnay and Weissburgunder grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate region. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of loam, loess and marl. The grapes for this white wine from Germany, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the hand harvest, the grapes quickly reach the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a few months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
Food recommendation for the Aufwind Weissburgunder and Chardonnay by Thomas Hensel
This German white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to baked feta cheese parcels, leek tortilla or red onion stuffed with couscous and apricots.
