
Pratello - Every bottle contains the soul of Lake Garda
On the hills west of Lake Garda, on the side towards Brescia in Lombardy, is the winery and farm Pratello. It covers a total area of 120 hectares, 70 of which are vineyards, including the two DOCs Lugana and Valtenesi, with the remainder being used for agriculture and forest. The belonging winery in the heart of the medieval village is completely underground. One area is modernly developed and serves for fermentation and bottling of wines, the historical part is reserved for wooden barrels for the maturation of the valuable Riserva.
In addition to the two DOC Lugana and Valtenesi, the wine also produces a number of other wines that are typical of the region, from the classic varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling for the whites, to the reds, with the autochthonous grape varieties Groppello, Sangiovese, Marzemino, Barbera, and the younger grape varieties Groppello, Sangiovese, Marzemino and Barbera.
Pratello was one of the first wineries in the region to receive organic certification. More than a decade later, the winery has developed the Pratello method, an improvement and qualitative development of the biological measures already in use, in order to strengthen the harmony between man and nature even further in a holistic, gentle and species-appropriate way.
