Azienda Agricola Villa Chiopris

Between the towns of Chiopris and Viscone under the Colli Orientali in eastern Friuli, where the mild climate of the nearby Adriatic Sea takes the edge off the fresh breezes from the north, here lies the Villa Chiopris winery.

A country estate with history - Villa Chopris

 An ancient noble family estate that until the end of the last century belonged to the Hausbrandt family, the great Trieste coffee dynasty. Transformed into a military hospital during the First World War because of its size and favourable location, Villa Chiopris has returned to its former splendour thanks to the Livon family (Aziende Agricole Livon). In the heart of the real Friuli are the endless rows of vines from which the wine of the same name is produced.

The Friuli Grave region

The Friuli wine-growing area extends at the foot of the Collio hills. The soil, created by dolomite deposits, is characterized by gravel and sand. The gravelly surface is responsible for the great variations between day and night temperatures. This gives rise to excellent aromatic grapes and thus also the complex wines of Villa Chiopris.

Villa Chiopris vinifies, among other things, the wonderful wines from the grape varieties:

• Pinot Grigio

In addition to the winery, guests can also stay in nine finely furnished rooms of Villa Chiopris. The furnishings have been designed so as not to lose the charm and warm atmosphere of the old country house.
