In the glass, the Bad Kreuznach Krötenpfuhl Riesling GG from the house of Dönnhoff shows a bright light yellow color. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, you can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like way. To the nose, this Dönnhoff white wine presents all manner of peaches, mirabelles, apricots, quince and pears. As if that weren't impressive enough, the stainless steel aging adds forest floor, sun-warmed rock and garrigue.
The Dönnhoff Bad Kreuznach Krötenpfuhl Riesling GG presents itself to the wine drinker wonderfully dry. This white wine is never coarse or meager, but round and smooth. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region Nahe, which can be stored well, finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of peach and apple show.
Vinification of the Dönnhoff Bad Kreuznach Krötenpfuhl Riesling GG
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Riesling. For this exceptionally balanced single-varietal wine from Dönnhoff, only first-class grapes were harvested. Bad Kreuznach Krötenpfuhl Riesling GG is an Old World wine through and through, as this German wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The grapes for this white wine from Germany are harvested, at the time of optimal ripeness, exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
