More information
The Barbazul Selection of Huerta de Albalá from Andalusia offers a dense purple color in the glass. When swirling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which shows in church windows at the edge of the glass. To the nose, this Huerta de Albalá red wine presents all sorts of blueberries, morello cherries, black currants, mulberries and plums. As if that were not already impressive, oriental spices, dark chocolate and gingerbread spice join in due to the aging in small wooden barrels.
The Huerta de Albalá Barbazul Selection impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with only 2.9 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this Spaniard naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense and fleshy texture. The balanced fruit acidity of the Barbazul Selection flatters the palate with a pleasing sensation, without lacking freshness. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Andalusia finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of morello cherry and blackberry.
Vinification of the Barbazul Selection from Huerta de Albalá
The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully powerful cuvée Barbazul Selection from Huerta de Albalá are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Tintilia grapes. Barbazul Selection is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Spaniard exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the harvest, the grapes arrive quickly at the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Barbazul Selection is aged for another 6 months in oak barrels.
