From the pen of Bertus Fourie
Bertus Fourie is already a legend in the world of unmistakable wines. He was a cellar master at Diemersfontein and then Senior Winemaker at the South African Wine Cooperative KWV.
In addition to his love for coffee, the winemaker has been given his nickname "Starbucks" because of his Barista pinotage.
Coffee in wine?
No, not quite. But this red wine has coffee-like aromas. The Barista Pinotage is also called coffee pinotage from South Africa - the name Barista probably hits the nail on the head.
Home - The Val de Vie Winery
Val de Vie began producing wine in Paarl as early as 1825. The manor house and the wine cellar are still intact today. Val de Vie is surrounded by majestic mountain ranges, vast lakes, vineyards, olive groves, lush polo fields, farms and beautifully landscaped gardens.
