More information
The barrel-aged Barolo Docg Piccole Vigne from the Piedmont wine-growing region reveals itself in the glass in a dense ruby red. Held at a slight angle, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in the strong stained glass windows on the edge of the glass. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Italy presents wonderfully complex aromas of mulberry, blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the barrel ageing.
This wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with just 0.3 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the top wine segment, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety on the palate. Thanks to the moderate fruit acidity, the Barolo Docg Piccole Vigne flatters the palate with a pleasing sensation without lacking freshness. On the finish, this mature wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region finally delights with its beautiful length. Once again, there are hints of blueberry and mulberry.
Vinification of the Erbaluna Barolo Docg Piccole Vigne
The powerful Barolo Docg Piccole Vigne from Italy is a single-varietal wine made organically from the Nebbiolo grape variety. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by ageing for several months in oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the Barolo Docg Piccole Vigne is carefully harmonized.
