More information

In the glass, La Serra Barolo from Mauro Molino reveals a bright ruby red color. If you tilt the glass slightly, you can see a transition of the color towards garnet red at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. After the first swirl, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. This single-varietal Italian wine flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of blueberries, mulberries, blackcurrants and plums. There are also hints of firewood, cinnamon and brown bread.

On the palate, La Serra Barolo by Mauro Molino starts off wonderfully dry, full-bodied and aromatic. This dense and fleshy red wine is balanced and complex on the palate. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, La Serra Barolo is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this mature red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from Barolo DOCG, ultimately impresses with its exceptional persistence.

Vinification of La Serra Barolo by Mauro Molino

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Nebbiolo. Only flawless grapes were used for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Mauro Molino. La Serra Barolo is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by ageing on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

Recommendation for La Serra Barolo by Mauro Molino

With stuffed peppers, goose breast with gingery red cabbage and marjoram or boeuf bourguignon.
