Baron de Ley
Barón de Ley from Spain
With the idea to bundle the collective expertise on Rioja and a Benedictibe monastery from 1548, the Baron de Ley winery was founded in 1985. It was an excellent way to unite history with the modern era. The 90 ha vineyards of this relatively young winery surround the old monastery, and the new structures have been added, which stand out with their modern and well thought out architecture.
The winery cultivates a mixture of Cabernet Sauvignon and classic Tempranillo grapes. These are matured in new barriqueswhich are used for bottling and result in an excellent Rioja wine. Barón de Ley wines are always grower’s products, and only the winery’s own grapes are processed.
