The powerful Battiferro Morellino di Scansano Riserva from Azienda Il Grillesino comes into the glass with a dense ruby red color. At the edges, this Italian red also shows a transition to garnet red. On the nose, this Azienda Il Grillesino red wine presents all kinds of plums, damsons, blackcurrants, blueberries and blackberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in large wooden barrels adds further aromas such as oriental spices, dark chocolate and beech smoke.

Vinification of the Azienda Il Grillesino Battiferro Morellino di Scansano Riserva
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Sangiovese. Only first-class grapes were harvested for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Azienda Il Grillesino. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by 14 months of ageing in French oak barrels.
