In the glass, the Belleruche Côtes du Rhône 1.5 l Magnum of M. Chapoutier shows a dense purple color. Swiveling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals delightfully complex aromas of black currant, blueberry, mulberry and blackberry, rounded out by oriental spices, gingerbread spice and black tea.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the top wine range, this Frenchman naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this punchy red wine is wonderfully silky and dense. In the finish, this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of the Rhône Valley finally thrills with good length. Once again, hints of mulberry and blueberry show. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone and clay dominated soils join.
Vinification of the M. Chapoutier Belleruche Côtes du Rhône 1.5 l Magnum
This powerful red wine from France is made from Grenache and Syrah grapes. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in the Rhône Valley. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. The Belleruche Côtes du Rhône 1.5 l Magnum is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Belleruche Côtes du Rhône 1.5 l Magnum are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes arrive quickly at the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Belleruche Côtes du Rhône 1.5 l Magnum can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months...
