More information about Bermatinger Leopoldsberg Spätburgunder - Weingut Markgraf von Baden

With the winery Markgraf von Baden Bermatinger Leopoldsberg Pinot Noir comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. In this it shows a wonderfully brilliant, light red color. With a bit of sideways lay, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. When swirling the glass, this red wine is characterized by an immense lightness that makes it dance peppy in the glass. To the nose, this winery Markgraf von Baden red wine presents all sorts of black currants, blackberries, blueberries and mulberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, the aging in large wooden barrels adds other aromas such as cigar box, oak and dark chocolate.

This red wine from Markgraf von Baden is the right wine for all connoisseurs who like it dry. However, it is never sparse or brittle, as one would expect from a wine in this price range. On the palate, the texture of this light-bodied red wine is wonderfully dense. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Bermatinger Leopoldsberg Pinot Noir reveals itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Baden, more precisely from Bermatingen, finally captivates with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Bermatinger Leopoldsberg Pinot Noir from winery Markgraf von Baden

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. Only the best grape material was used for this wonderfully elegant single-varietal wine from Weingut Markgraf von Baden. Bermatinger Leopoldsberg Pinot Noir is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The ripeness of the grapes for this wine made from Pinot Noir is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Baden, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate must weight. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Bermatinger Leopoldsberg Pinot Noir is aged for several months in large oak barrels.
