The Biserno Toscana Rosso IGT from Tenuta Biserno is the flagship of the winery of the same name and a sensational red terroir wine from the Maremma.
In the glass the Biserno shines intensely dark red, on the nose a dense, complex bouquet opens with aromas of red and dark fruits, cherry, blackberry, and dark plums, spicy notes, freshly ground coffee and tobacco underline the fruity character. On the palate it is incredibly elegant, balanced, soft and present tannins, rich in aromas and flavours that give depth to this great cuvée. The finish is endlessly long, soft and persistent.
A wine with personality and international character, unique reflection of the terroir and climate of the Alta Maremma.
Vinification of Biserno Toscana Rosso IGT by Tenuta Biserno
This cuvée is a selection of the best grapes from Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The vineyards are located in the clayey, sandy and alluvial soils typical of this Maremma area. After the selective harvest of the best perfectly ripened grapes, depending on the variety, from the beginning of September to the second week of October, a further manual selection takes place in the cellar on vibratory belts. The grapes are then destemmed and gently pressed. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for a period of 3 to 4 weeks. 60% of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, the rest in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 15 months in French oak barriques, 75% in new barriques, 25% in one-year-old barriques already used once, then bottled and aged for a further 12 months in the bottle before being ready for sale.
The Biserno Toscana Rosso has a storage potential of at least 10 to 14 years or longer.

This exceptional terroir wine is a great pleasure both alone and with selected dishes, especially meat dishes, game and mature cheeses.
The Biserno is already good to drink, but still has a lot of potential to become even better over time. Open it ideally up to 4 hours before serving.
