More information
Markus Schneider's Black Print is a German red wine legend. The wine bears its name because of its dense, almost black color, which created the association with printer's ink in the first people who tasted the Black Print. And so the name was found.
Black Print enters the glass with a dense purple color and blackberry-black core. The nose is caressed by lots of ripe blackberry and blueberry fruit, complemented by ripe cherries, some dark chocolate and nuances of licorice and a touch of Christmas spice.
On the palate, the Schneider Black Print is delightfully velvety and soft. The round tannins are excellently integrated and make this red wine cuvée from the Palatinate a real palate-pleaser. The polished and balanced finish is also superb. Every year anew a pleasure.
Vinification of the Black Print by Markus Schneider
For his classic red wine, Markus uses international classics such as Syrah, Merlot, Blaufränkisch and Cabernet Sauvignon, but also new varieties such as Cabernet Dorsa. The grapes grow on sandy soils as well as on limestone subsoil.
After harvesting, the grapes are crushed and fermented in wooden vats for almost four weeks. The Black Print is then aged in oak barrels until the fall of the following year, when it is bottled and released for sale.
Food recommendation for the Schneider Black Print
Enjoy this top cuvée from Ellerstadt in the Palatinate with spicy meat dishes such as veal cheeks or ribeye steak with wild mushrooms.
