The Black Print from Markus Schneider is a German red wine legend. The wine bears his name because of its dense, almost black colour, which created the association with printer's ink in the first people who were allowed to taste the Black Print. And so the name was found.
The Black Print comes into the glass with a dense, purple-red colour and a blackberry-black core. The nose is flattered by a lot of ripe blackberry and blueberry fruit, complemented by ripe cherries, some dark chocolate and nuances of liquorice and a touch of Christmas spices.
On the palate the Schneider Black Print is wonderfully velvety and smooth. The round tannins are excellently integrated and make this red wine cuvée from the Palatinate a real treat for the palate. The polished and balanced finish is also grandiose. A pleasure every year anew.
Vinification of the Black Print from Markus Schneider
For his red wine classic Markus uses international classics like Syrah, Merlot, Blaufränkisch and Cabernet Sauvignon, but also new varieties like Cabernet Dorsa. The grapes grow on sandy soils as well as on limestone soils.
After harvesting, the grapes are crushed and fermented in wooden vats for about four weeks. The Black Print then matures in oak barrels until autumn of the following year, when it is finally bottled and sold.
