The Blaufränkisch Reserve from the Austrian winery Günter + Regina Triebaumer Rust enters the glass in a beautiful muted purple with a dark cherry rim and a generous streak. The nose immediately suggests the complexity of this wine: Aromas of ripe heart cherries, chilled blackberry jus, blackthorn and juniper are wonderfully combined with Christmas notes of cinnamon, bay leaf, clove and cedar in this Triebaumer- made wine.
On the palate, this wine is dry, powerful and with a wonderful structure. Supple tannins, perfectly integrated with a very present, distinctive flavor, complete this wine. Lavish, full of Ruster minerality and animating fruit acidity and a fantastically long finish with promising potential - THIS is the Blaufränkisch Reserve.
