Viña Kaiken: Aurelio Montes beyond the Andes

Kaiken, the Mapuche Indians call the Patagonian wild goose, which crosses the Andes from Chile to Argentina. The renowned Chilean winegrower Aurelio Montes was also drawn over the Andes into neighbouring Argentina to produce selected wines, which he therefore called Kaiken.

Montes discovers Argentina

Particularly the Argentinean region Mendoza offers unique wine-growing conditions, which fascinated the spoiled winegrowers from Chile. Montes searched patiently, critically and meticulously for the best grapes and the best sites before deciding on vineyards in the Valle de Uco. Montes also monitors very closely the overall growth and ripening of the grapes. Every detail, from the first vine pruning to harvesting, is closely monitored to ensure optimal harvesting quality.

Malbec & Cabernet

In order to preserve the authentic regional character of the wines, Montes concentrates on the two most characteristic Argentinean grape varieties, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, from which it produces different qualities. The whole passion of the winemaker, his unconditional dedication to quality and the authentic expression of the terroir and climate are expressed in these Kaiken wines.
