Wines that emerge from inspiration and authenticity
The Spanish winery Bodegas Muga is located in the heart of the city of Haro (Rioja). Don Isaac Muga and his wife Aurora Caño founded the winery in 1932. After the death of Don Isaac, the siblings Manuel, Isabel and Isaac took over Bodegas Muga and enlarged it continuously.
Open to new ideas
Bodegas Muga is not afraid to try new techniques to improve the quality of its wines. It is important to the whole team that the authenticity is not lost. Modernity and tradition stand side by side.
The vineyards
Bodegas Muga owns 70 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with the following grape varieties:
- Tempranillo
- Garnacha
- Mazuelo
- Graciano
- Viura
- Malvasia
The Atlantic, continental and Mediterranean influences harmonise perfectly in La Rioja and create an ideal climate for the grapes.
The wine cellar
The wine cellar contains 17000 barriques of French and American oak. Bodegas Muga is the only winery with its own master cooper and three barrel makers.
