The Bodegas Paniza takes its name from the village of the same name, which is located in the vicinity of Cariñena.
Bodegas Paniza - a village makes wine
The philosophy of offering the best of its land, its wine, has carried the estate for 60 years. 300 winegrowers have joined together in Bodegas Paniza.
In 1953, the first winegrowers started the joint project Nuestra Señora del Águila, which would later become Bodegas Paniza. In 1982 they bought a bottling machine and were able to sell wine completely independently for the first time. In 1996 a modern winery was built. Around 2010 Bodegas Paniza's production was completely brought up to modern standards and Bodegas Paniza was given production capacity that made it internationally competitive. In 2015, the company was able to reap the rewards of its success and built a state-of-the-art, architecturally interesting main building.
The vineyards of Bodegas Paniza
3000 hectares of vineyards around Paniza are now part of Bodegas Paniza. The soil is dry and rocky, typical of the Cariñena area, with brown earth, limestone, sandstone and clay at lower altitudes. The oldest vines are located at an altitude of 850 metres, where they benefit from the unique conditions that qualify them for the best wines of Bodegas Paniza. The continental climate here ensures very hot summers and cold, windy winters.
One producer - many names
Today Bodegas Paniza produces different wine lines:
- Artizago
- Viñas de Paniza
- Panitsa
- Agostón
- Fábula de Paniza
- Ibero de Paniza
