The Bolgheri Rosso Doc from Colle Massari in Tuscany shows a dense, purple-red color when swirled in the glass. If you give it a little air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows on the edge of the glass. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Italy reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blueberry, blackberry, plum and damson, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the barrel ageing.
The Colle Massari Bolgheri Rosso Doc impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with just 0.4 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. This velvety red wine is full-bodied and multi-faceted on the palate. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, the Bolgheri Rosso Doc flatters the palate with a velvety sensation without lacking in juicy liveliness. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region, more precisely from Bolgheri DOC, ultimately impresses with a beautiful finish.
Vinification of the Bolgheri Rosso Doc from Colle Massari
The basis for the powerful Bolgheri Rosso Doc from Tuscany are grapes from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for several months in oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the Bolgheri Rosso Doc is carefully harmonized.
