The Disitilleria Bottega was founded in 1977 by Aldo Bottega, a patriarch and master distiller with over 30 years’ experience in the trade. The distillery can now be found in Pianzano. Aldo Bottega built up the first distillery as part of his father’s business in the 1950s and 1960s. His father, Domenico Bottega, had been an experienced wine and spirits merchant since the 1920s, as well as a passionate oenologist in the third generation of a winemaking family. When Aldo Bottega passed away in 1983, his children Sandro, Barbara and Stefano took over the management of the distillery. Two years later they created the first mouth-blown bottle to give their grappa an innovative, exclusive and elegant new image.

In 1992, they introduced their Vino dei Poeti, a sparkling Prosecco, which allowed the business to enter the world of wine. Their fragolino was introduced to the market in 1995, a sparkling wine with a long tradition that really stirred up the wine market. In 2004 they created yet another innovative product – Grappa Spray – grappa in a tiny spray bottle.

2007 was another important years for the company: The new head office was opened in Bibano, on a 19th Century estate surrounded by a 10 ha vineyard. In the following two years, the business also purchased two cellars in Valpolicella and Montalcino (Tuscany), for the purpose of producing and controlling Amarones and Brunellos, the most important regional wines. In 2011, the new glass blowing facility was opened in historical Pianzano. This is where the artistic bottles for Grappa Alexander are created. The Distilleria Bottega srl (ltd.) increased its capital in 2013 and became Bottega SpA (plc). Today the Bottega Group is a solid, strong business which markets its products in over 120 countries and is represented in numerous duty-free shops in airports all over the world.

Some of the Bottega brands are: Alexander Grappa and Vodka, Bottega wines, sparkling wines, Grappa and liqueurs.
