Bouvet Trésor Blanc Brut Saumur AOC is the first Bouvet-Ladubay crémant to be aged in wooden barrels.
In the glass, the Bouvet Trésor Blanc Brut shines straw yellow and inspires with a long-lasting and very fine perlage. The bouquet develops aromas of brioche and citrus fruits, on the palate this opulent crémant shows a creamy, full-bodied texture and well-balanced tannins due to the barrels, carried by a pleasant, fresh acidity. The finish is pleasant, fruity and long. A charismatic crémant that can eclipse many Champagnes.
Vinification of Bouvet Trésor Blanc Brut Saumur AOC from Bouvet-Ladubay
Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay are vinified together in a cuvée for this elegant French vintage sparkling wine from the Saumur wine region in the Loire Valley. After fermentation, the base wine matures in wooden barrels before being aged on fine yeasts using the classic method of bottle fermentation.
The origins of Bouvvet-Ladubay are linked to its cellars in the tuff caves, a treasure that, according to legend, was created by the monks of the Abbey of St. Florent in the 11th century and discovered by Etienne Bouvet. At the end of the 1980s, the cellar master Patrice Mommusseau brought this treasure to the public by creating the "Trésor" as the first cuvée of the house Bouvet matured in wooden barrels.
