Kept at a slight angle, a transition in color towards garnet red is visible at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you give it a little air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows at the edge of the glass. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of forest fruit jam, wild berry jam, plum jam and rum pot, rounded off by cocoa beans, gingerbread spice and black tea, which are contributed by the barrel ageing.
The Brolo Campofiorin Oro Rosso del Veronese 1.5 l magnum from Masi Agricola is the right choice for all wine drinkers who like as little residual sugar in their wine as possible. However, it is never austere or brittle, but round and smooth. This dense red wine is full-bodied and multi-faceted on the palate. With its lively fruit acidity, the Brolo Campofiorin Oro Rosso del Veronese 1.5 l Magnum is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this very storable wine from the Veneto wine-growing region finally impresses with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of forest fruit confit and rum pot.
Vinification of the Masi Agricola Brolo Campofiorin Oro Rosso del Veronese 1.5 l Magnum
The basis for the powerful Brolo Campofiorin Oro Rosso del Veronese 1.5 l Magnum from Veneto are grapes from the Corvina, Oseleta and Rondinella grape varieties. The Brolo Campofiorin Oro Rosso del Veronese 1.5 l Magnum is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The ripeness of the grapes for this wine made from Corvina, Oseleta and Rondinella is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Veneto, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Brolo Campofiorin Oro Rosso del Veronese 1.5 l Magnum is aged for several months in oak barriques.
