In the glass, this red wine from Carpineto reveals aromas of morello cherries, blackberries, plums, mulberries and plums, complemented by gingerbread spice, juniper and garrigue. The Carpineto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with just 0.7 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine from the Icon wine segment, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva has a soft mouthfeel thanks to its moderate fruit acidity, without lacking any juicy liveliness. The finish of this well-matured red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region, more precisely from Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, finally delights with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets from the clay-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva from Carpineto
This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Sangiovese grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Tuscany. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into clay soils. The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by ageing for 30 months in French oak barrels.
