The Brut Tradition from the pen of Dourdon Vieillard from Champagne offers in the glass a bright, light red color. The bubbles of this sparkling wine shows in the glass very fine bubbly and incredibly consistent. After the first swirl, one can perceive an excellent balance in this sparkling wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like manner. Poured into a sparkling wine glass, this sparkling wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully distinguished and complex aromas of quince, rounded off by further fruity nuances.
Balanced and multi-layered, this creamy, crisp and light sparkling wine presents itself on the palate. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Champagne finally thrills with beautiful length. Once again, hints of quince appear. In the reverberation, mineral notes of the limestone and clay dominated soils join.
Vinification of the Brut Tradition of Dourdon Vieillard
The balanced Brut Tradition from France is a cuvée, vinified from the grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. In Champagne, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. Brut Tradition is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The fact that the Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a considerable influence on the maturation of the vintage. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After harvesting, the grapes are taken to the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then the fermentation of the base wines takes place. After the composition of the final champagne follows further aging based on the Méthode Traditionelle. It follows a bottle storage for 6 months.
