If you swirl the glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in the clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Enzo Boglietti reveals aromas of lavender, blackcurrant, lilies, plums and violets, complemented by cocoa bean, cinnamon and black tea. On the palate, the Buio Langhe by Enzo Boglietti starts off wonderfully aromatic, fruity and balanced. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense on the palate. On the finish, this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of morello cherry and lilac. Mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils are added to the finish.
Vinification of Buio Langhe by Enzo Boglietti
Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes form the basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Buio Langhe cuvée from Enzo Boglietti. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into clay soils. Obviously, the Buio Langhe is also determined by climatic and stylistic factors Langhe DOC. This Italian can be described as an old world wine in the best sense of the word, presenting itself in an extraordinarily impressive way. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for Buio Langhe are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After manual harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by ageing on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
