Bussia Barolo DOCG 2015 - Prunotto

The Barolo Bussia DOCG of Prunotto from the homonymous vineyard is intense garnet red in the glass with ruby reflections. The complex bouquet smells of very ripe stone and berry fruit, nicely complemented by floral and spicy aromas. On the palate this Barolo-Cru presents itself very intense in the taste with sweet and engaging, opulent tannins, full-bodied, well structured and rich. The finish is long, round and wonderfully persistent.

Vinification of Barolo Bussia DOCG from Prunotto
The Nebbiolo grapes for this Barolo grow in the Bussia vineyard in the municipality of Monforte at 350 metres above sea level with a southern orientation. The soils are characterized by marl with fossil sediments, calcareous clay marl, alternating with sandy layers.
After the selective manual grape harvest, the grapes are destemmed and pressed in the wine cellar. Maceration on the skins and alcoholic fermentation take place at a controlled temperature of maximum 30°C for 10 days. Malolactic fermentation is completed before the beginning of winter. The wine is then aged for 38 months, of which at least 18 months in Slavonian and French oak barrels of different capacities and 18 to 20 months in the bottle after bottling.
The Barolo Bussia from Prunotto has a storage potential of 15 years and more, depending on the vintage.

Food pairing for Barolo Bussia DOCG from Prunotto

Enjoy the Barolo Bussia as a professional companion to dishes with truffles, refined meat dishes, game, venison and seasoned, hearty cheeses.
