More information about Cabernet Cuvée Löss-Lehm - Stefan Meyer
In the glass, Stefan Meyer's Cabernet Cuvée Loess-Loam reveals a dense purple color. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine displays wonderfully expressive aromas of blueberry, mulberry, black currant and blackberry, rounded out by oriental spices, cocoa bean and gingerbread spice contributed by barrel aging.
This dry red wine from Stefan Meyer is something for wine connoisseurs who can't drink their wine dry enough. The Cabernet Cuvée Löss-Lehm is already quite close to this, as it was pressed with just 1.8 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Cabernet Cuvée Loess-Loam flatters the palate with a pleasing feel, without lacking juicy liveliness. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate finally impresses with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and loess.
Vinification of the Stefan Meyer Cabernet Cuvée Loess-Loam
This powerful red wine from Germany is made from the grape varieties Cabernet Dorsa, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the Palatinate region, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loam and loess. After harvesting, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Cabernet Cuvée Loess-Loam is aged for another 12 months in oak barrels.
