In the glass, the Cahors Cuvée Caroline of Château la Coustarelle shows a dense purple color. Ideally poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine offers wonderfully expressive aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry and mulberry, rounded off by cocoa bean, gingerbread spice and cinnamon contributed by barrel aging.
The Cahors Cuvée Caroline from Château la Coustarelle is ideal for all wine lovers who like as little sweetness as possible in their wine. However, it is never sparse or brittle, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly silky texture. The finale of this red wine from the Sud-Ouest wine-growing region, which has good aging potential, finally delights with good reverberation.
Vinification of the Château la Coustarelle Cahors Cuvée Caroline
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Malbec. Only impeccable grape material was brought in for this wonderfully powerful varietal wine from Château la Coustarelle. After harvesting, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation of 12 months in French oak barrels.
