Calafuria Rosato Salento IGT 2019 - Tormaresca
The Calafuria Salento IGT from Tormaresca with its delicate colour is reminiscent of light pink peach blossoms. The bouquet of this rosé wine from Apulia caresses the nose with the intense aromas of juicy peaches, grapefruit and delicate hints of roses and cherry blossoms. On the palate, the Rosé Calafuria is soft, full-bodied, distinctly tasty, with a perfect balance of acidity and aromatic length in the aftertaste.
Vinification of Tormaresca Calafuria Salento IGT
The region of Apulia has a very long and historical tradition of producing rosé wines from the Negroamaro grape variety, a grape variety that expresses its best potential near the sea.
The grapes of this pure Negroamaro variety come from the province of Brindisi in Puglia and ripen in vineyards that stretch for more than 1 km along the Apulian coast. After the manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed, then gently pressed and the must cooled in stainless steel tanks to 10° Celsius. The must is clarified naturally by decantation, followed by alcoholic fermentation. After a short aging period in stainless steel tanks, the Calafuria is refined in the bottle for a further 4 months before being sold.
