Held at a slight angle, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. If you give it a little air in the glass by swirling it, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in the stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of Cannubi Boschis Barolo reveals nuances of morello cherries, lilies and black cherries. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing and even more fruity, balsamic nuances.
The Virna Borgogno Cannubi Boschis Barolo is wonderfully dry to the palate. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. On the finish, this storable red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of lily and rose. Mineral notes from the limestone and clay-dominated soils are added to the finish.
Vinification of the Virna Borgogno Cannubi Boschis Barolo
The powerful Cannubi Boschis Barolo from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Nebbiolo grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay, limestone, sandstone and marl. Obviously, the Cannubi Boschis Barolo is also determined by climatic and stylistic factors Barolo DOCG. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word and is exceptionally impressive. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood and large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation for several months in barriques and 900-liter Slavonian tonneau. The ageing in barrels is followed by extensive ageing in the bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
