More information
The light-footed Cantagal from the pen of Barni flows into the glass with brilliant golden yellow. To the nose, this Barni dessert wine reveals all sorts of apricots. As if that were not already impressive, further aromas such as honey are added by the aging in large wooden barrels.
The light-footed Barni Cantagal reveals an incredibly fruit-driven taste to us on the tongue, which is not least due to its residual sweet flavor profile. On the tongue, this light-footed dessert wine is characterized by an incredibly dense, silky, creamy and velvety texture. Finally, on the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Piedmont delights with beautiful length. Again, hints of apricot appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and volcanic rock are added.
Vinification of Barni Cantagal
The basis for the elegant Cantagal from Italy are grapes from the grape variety Erbaluce. In Piedmont, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and volcanic rock. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately sent to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Cantagal can further harmonize for 42 months on the fine lees.
Serving Suggestions for Barni's Cantagal
This Italian is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to peach-passion fruit dessert, almond milk jelly with lychees, or pear-lime strudel.
