Cantine Giacomo Montresor
Cantine Giacomo Montresor – Roots in France
The Montresor family had its roots in France. Count Claude de Montresor played an important role at the time of Cardinal Richelieu and was an advisor for the Duke of Orleans, a cousin of the king.
The Montresor Family – Generations of Wine Lovers
In the 16th Century, part of the Montresor family left their chateau in the Loire Valley set out for Italy and began cultivating grapevines in Verona. In the second half of the 19th Century, Giacomo Montresor began bottling and selling their wines – a tradition that is upheld by his heirs today. Currently, Cantine Giacomo Montresor has vineyards totalling more than 150 hectares and sells 3.5 million bottles of wine annually. The Montresor family has proven that quantity can be more than successfully married to great quality.
